Mid America Instructor
This course covers industrial hygiene practices and related OSHA regulations and procedures. Course topics include recognition, evaluation, and control of chemical, physical, biological and ergonomic hazards, Permissible Exposure Limits (PEL), OSHA health standards, respiratory protection, engineering controls, OSHA sampling protocols and strategies, and workplace health program elements. The course features workshops in health hazard recognition, OSHA health standards and use of sampling equipment. Upon course completion students will have the ability to recognize basic industrial hygiene principles and practices, identify characteristics of common air contaminants, locate PELs, perform basic industrial hygiene calculations, and determine methods for hazard control and abatement. Minimum student contact hours: 26

The CAM Training & Education Center is on the main level of the Construction Association of Michigan headquarters, located at 43636 Woodward Avenue, Bloomfield Hills. Our trainer for this location is;
Jason Griffin, CAM Director of Education & Safety Services, has more than 8 years of health and safety experience. Prior to working for CAM, Jason was a Senior Construction Safety Consultant for MIOSHA’s CET Division and was a MIOSHA Training Institute instructor and program developer. Currently, Jason provides consultation and training services for CAM’s member companies and is responsible for the association’s educational programming. The combination of Jason’s experiences in commercial construction, working with MIOSHA, and his many interactions with contractors, associations, workers across Michigan has equipped him with an in depth understanding of how to bring real world experiences to the classroom.
